"Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual."
Edward Weston
what a stunning image! the colours are fascinating, i also love monochromatic images.. but this one is certainly special, it combines a wonderful little creature with the product of human work; even though it's just a small bench, it looks fantastic.
and the butterfly's wings are strikingly beautiful.. all those shades and shapes are simply breathtaking! he has a nice camouflage on the bench, heh :) you have a good eye, i know i wouldn't notice the little animal :(
tremendous details as well and a fabulous lightning.. i love that little butterfly's shadow.. and the composition is excellent, too.
what to say more.. i'm amazed with the beauty of this image :) top marks, favourites and... have a nice day :)
Kidding, a little, lol. A little ... since I would echo everything she said, and add a few more personal comments.
Surprisingly, the balance in the composition, I feel, is one of the stronger elements of the overall image. So simplistic, and yet, this is where I think most people err, in assuming that these types of photos are easier ... hmm, don't think so.
A very 'delicate eye' (if I may coin a term) lead to the great image in these photos. The slight rotation of the reference lines ... the lighting is very important and spot on. Really, really great detail of the intended subject matter, again, offsets and balances some of the other more simple aspects.
A truly wonderful image. Thoroughly enjoyed and thanks for sharing it.
