Took this picture of a pencil. I personally would recomend using this one in the middle of your screen with a black border around the sides. I think it makes a better desktop that way, but i thought you could deide for yourself so i didn't force it. Hope you like it.

Excellent macro Milo. Details are sharp but that must be a debarker of a pencil sharpener. Nice capture:-)

very nice, was f/stop was this at? and were you using the little or big tripod? to improve this one, the only thing i might suggest would be to get out the burn/dodge tools in PS and brighten some of the details in the pencil to make use of the entire colour spectrum, as this one doesnt get too bright ever. maybe you could have rotated the camera a shade to the right so that the point of the lead was also in the plane of focus? dunno, little suggestions more to make you think ;) this is very good

Thanks for all the comments. To answer carls question, the technical stats on this picture are as follows: F22, 2 sec, 105mm tripod (my big one for carl). There was accutally a bit of a glare on the tip of the pencil so i did use burn tool to bring that down alittle. The rotating of the camera would have probably been a good idea though.

Its time for a new sig for me, so it is for sale. Any offers can be made via a message in my profile.

Great shot. I particularly like the use of textures to create visual dynamics. I think I'll skip the black borders though. Thanks for making that optional. ;)
