I think that is what my mom called it, but i know very little about flowers so if someone knows better let me know. Hopefully you don't mind the borders. I took this shot portrait and could only crop off the bottem so much before it looked bad. Lets hear what you think.

Heading to the East Coast (New Brunswick) on the 15th of this month. I won't be back until the 23rd. Hope to have lots of pictures to share.
Mom was right. This is most likely a Dodecatheon hendersonii, common name shooting star. You really got a nice shot of the blossom with the very blurred green foliage behind to set if off. Good job!

this is so increibly beautiful. i just love the colors, that yellow and purple is so perfect especially against the green in the background. the background is just perfectly blurred, i love how i cant distinguish anything in it, but it still has some texture and different shades to make it intersting. I love how soft the focus is, yet everything is so sharp and clean. there is so much detail all the way down to the tiny tip of the flower. , i love the textures you captured. a perfect capture in my mind, and into my favorites! ~abby
