I believe these are Hostas, Michael, grown especially for their wonderful variety of colored leaves and the fact that they do well in shade. They have flowers too, but later in the season. These two toned ones are very pretty and you are right, it makes a lovely pattern. The shost is crisp and clear too.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Bold and fanciful work...good to see this as it shows creativity and willingness to try something different-especially since it is so well done

you're right, it does look a bit abstract. Good pattern!

I have these in my spring garden most years ... not this year..so it is nice to see that someone was able to grow them. I love these natural texture shots for desktop views..excellent job.

love the Hostas, they produce such bright greens in contrast to the white stripping, making for beautiful foliage. too bad their covered somewhat with what looks like grass clippings. great picture.
