Out yesterday and in the distance I saw what i initially thought was a wildflower, upon closer inspection I thought I had stumbled upon an Alien Spore, then later I performed a little research and found out what it is. Gymnosporangium juniperi-virginianae (Cedar-Apple Rust) It only occurs when a Cedar or Juniper is in the vicinity of a Crab Apple tree, and only when it is wet, well it was raining all day yesterday, all of the pictures I found on Google showed a specimen found later, it almost appeared as though this just "Sprouted" there were several smaller ones on the same tree, this was about 4 inches wide.
