I used to love catching these when I was younger. Great clarity on the shot and the colour is perfect!

Oh my goodness, I sure wouldn't want to get to close to this mean looking beetle. I've never seen one like this, but of course I don't go looking for them either, lol.

Oooh - wouldn't like to find one of those under my pillow. Not a bad job, good colour and lighting. For my money though, the depth of field is a little shallow as I would have liked to have seen more of the head in focus.

Hi Chad! These look like the beetles on the "Mummy" movie. LOL! Do you still have all your parts? Lol! Looks like you were focusing on the head, which you did. Maybe to bring out those GIANT pinchers! Overall the photo is good for me! The white of the background makes the pinchers much more visible. Personally I like color. Guess the Sun was bright. Excellent macro of this fearsome looking coleopteran. Nice crisp, clear focused shot, good colors. 6.5 out of 10. If she had something in those mandibles, the wow factor would have made it an 8.

I have to echo .J_E_F, tho focus is a bit shallow, I would've wished to have a deeper focus so the back armor and lower parts of the head were in focus as well.
Other than that I cannot wish for anything. Great shot!
