This is the crater left by an atomic bomb that was accidently dropped on Mars Bluff in rural Florence County SC on March, 11 1958! Thankfully it was unarmed and carried no plutonium but it did have 7600 LBS. of TNT which exploded and caused extensive damage in the area! Photo taken on March, 11 2008!

Almost 4 tons of TNT makes a big hole. There are still smaller craters than this in the fields of France from WWI. It takes a long time for a 75 ft crater about 30 ft deep to disappear, but the trees and grass will overcome.

It is miracle that no one has lost their life to a detonated nuke since WWII with the thousands of devices all over the world.

The world is still playing a dangerous game of Russian Roulette on a global scale.
