Sunrise a couple of days ago. After falling over and crushing my fingers between my tripod legs. (Ouch!) I managed a couple of photos while the sun was still low on the horizon. These three gum trees were clearly related, by competition if not geneology. See the way the outer two grow away from the central one, searching for their own sphere of sunlight. When all three were smaller there was plenty of room for them to be so close together but as they grew, so their proximity became a source of competition. Bit like siblings really. :)

Enjoy.

Mikel.

We've all got to do what we've got to do. Beautiful sunset with the extra large sun and the shapely trees and the misty hills in the background.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I love the peaceful quiescence this image portrays, (except for your bumbling around with your tripod, lol!) Couldn't ask for a better job on the composition! It's a very beautiful scene Mikel. Perfect placement of the sun. :)

As soon as I saw the thumbnail I knew this had to be an Aussie pic and what a glorious one it is! This really is a fabulous image and I love the sibling analogy, it's funny and beautiful. Nice one.

Very nice shot of the family tree! And I can so relate to pinching the fingers in the tripod. Ouch.
