Same raw file as Jonathan but processed differently both at raw stage and in The Gimp and cropped to a normal wide DT aspect. I like this one for the colour and the sheen on the water but I like the other one because Jonathan is more prominent.

Enjoy.

Mikel.

PS I think we should see more posts of different versions of the one image here - if you look at the great painters in history they generally produced various versions of *masterpieces* as part of the process of arriving at that masterpiece - exploration of an image's potentials helps us discover things previously not noticed in that image.

Mikel - that is permitted provided:

'Once an image has been uploaded to the site it should not be uploaded again unless substantial changes have been made to it. These changes should be enough so that it could be reasonable assumed that the resulting changed image would receive a better critique than the previous version.'

The rework section also facilitates this although it should be remembered that Rework is for images done by a different artist than the originator.

Nice change, Mikel. I like seeing more water in this because of the sheen of the sun is really awesome. I like them both but probably lean more to this one. Thanks for sharing.

a hard choice this one, i think i prefer the other a tiny smidge because the colour seems more natural and i like the widescreen view. however, both are ace in my opinion, its a lovely shot.

Mikel, think we have to ask Jonathan, which one is better, as I can't make a choice.

Another top notch image my friend. Your talents never cease to amaze me. Hard choice to make. Beautiful golden tones on the water really make this one.

I think both images are very nice and I do like them bot but due to size for DT this one would suit better. Nice colours and I think Jonathan looks more slender in this pic :)

I like both. Although I think I prefer the first version. Especially enjoy the tones and the solitary atmosphere.

I like this better than the panorama! Colors are more intense and have a deeper impact on eye!
Love it!
