This is pretty much all shoreline. he he. Newman's Crossing. I'm guessing this waterway isn't that old, the rocks are all still very sharp and rough. I applied a diffusion filter (Digital) to the trees but not the rocks, to give the trees a bit more of the luminous quality they had and to keep the rocks nice and rocky/sharp.

Nice scenery. I get the "light look" you were going for, but I'm thinking maybe just a lightening graduated filter. The diffuse filter seems to have burned away some dtail, and left the trees looking overexposed with some CA.

Bottom half of the shot, though, I could stare at for extended periods of time. Nice.

I love the rocks and swirling water. The colors and textures are fascinating. And I, too, like the darker version better, but with a bit more detail in the trees.
