My friends know how I like darker images so I considered Rob's feedback on the previous version of this shot, which you can see HERE and did an alternate version with the top two thirds much darker. If you look full size you'll see there is still some detail in the trees, when I worked out how to do that but keep it dark I figured I might as well do it. I like this one more. Thanks Rob for providing the initial honest analysis that led me to this end result.

Enjoy.

Mikel.

You did a grand job on the original...But, I think I like this better!...

It's a bit too late for me to stay out snapping these!...we have harpies flying about then!...

Nice work pal..

If you could put this sky in the first image - to me it would look perfect !
However, I like both of them, and veer towards this version as it has mnore impact and makes a dramatic desktop.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

---My friends know how I like darker images---

You never have told me that you are sitting behind your screen with sunglasses on Mikel, lol.

Have to be honest. This one is a tad too dark for me. Therefore I prefer the brighter version, but of course I have to respect that someone's taste differs from mine.

Regards, Cornelius.

I'm with Eve on this one, Mikel. But I'd like to see even more of that river bottom detail, carved in the rock.
It's a beautiful location and composition.

I like the dark version as well. Great composition with the stream beginning on the far left and angling right.

This looks great, Mikel. I'm glad my input had a positive impact, and was so graciously received.

The darker sky works better, in my (sometimes) humble opinion. It's kind of like a candle-lit dinner... it's supposed to be dark.
