Taken with the little Canon S3IS about 18 months ago. Drought time, you can see how bare the grasses are despite what looks like good rain clouds. Not your normal sunset shot, which is my main reason for sharing it.

Enjoy.

Mikel.

To forestall further lovely but undeserved compliments on the exposure for this image - the "exposure" is actually a result of layer masking two copies of the same image, one worked on for the sky, one worked on for the ground, then layering the two relevant sections together. Otherwise my little Canon S3IS from back then, would only expose properly for one of the two elements. It is a technique I still use all the time. Cameras with a wide enough dynamic range to capture this kind of scene properly in one shot are WAY over my price point. hehe.

Now this is a cracker...the scape looks lovely..the gentle sunsetting trying to overtake those clouds looks a bit ominous!..

For me, all of your landscapes are an uncommon sight. What I enjoy most here isn't the sunset, it is the lighting your achieved in spite of the dark cloud cover. Especially over the roll of the land... grasses, hills and trees. A pleasure to view.

It amazes me to see how that part of the world has a drought but here it's covered in snow.

The colors of the sunset are simply stunning. A wonderful shot.

This is a very fine sunset, Mikel. I like the low-hanging cloud layer and streak of orange across the horizon, which add some color and drama to the scene but don't overpower the landscape. Your foreground exposure is perfect. Despite the fading light, the foreground is rich in color and detail and makes this picture special.

The cloud formations alone are quite lovely and unusual. The colors are calming and the whole landscape is really beautiful.
