You can just see, to the left of centre in both sky and reflection, the streak of clear sunlight heralding that the sun had risen above the clouds on the horizon and soon the colour would be bleaching out of the sky. I was kinda curious about the science behind how the sky moved from purplish tones with yellow highlights to cyan tones with orange highlights in a few minutes, surely something to do with wavelengths or some such. I think maybe this one is my fav from the morning. You can link up to the previous ones by starting HERE. That's one gorgeous sky reflected in the water. I love the gold and blue tones and I think you are right about the atmosphere bending the light even more as the sun gets lower in the sky. Isn't it great?

This sunrise just gets better and better as the sun climbs higher. The light blue and gold colors of the sky and clouds are a beautiful combination. The watery reflections and dark, silhouetted shoreline turn a great sunrise into a marvelous photograph. Well done, Mikel!

A beautiful sunrise and a great place to note the changes of light. Love the golden glow beyond highlighting the silhouettes.

Beautiful! I love the clarity and I have always loved the colors of sunrises and sunsets. I particularly enjoy the mirror effect of the still water. What else can I say but that this is simply a fantastic shot!
