Yes, this is social commentary. It's also me going back into old folders looking for material to explore hdr software with. In this case, Oloneo (Which is free by the way, at least for now in it's beta format and I've had no crashes or any problem of any kind.). A detail of Customs House here in Canberra. For those who are interested, the tone mapping in Oloneo brought up all kinds of detail, if you look at the three blue windows on the left edge you can see INSIDE the room to the shadow lines where the wall meets the ceiling in that room. I couldn't see that with the naked eye.

Enjoy.

Mikel.

PS, anyone want to take a shot at interpreting this in light of it's title? I'd love to read some other people's ideas of the metaphors and evocations they might see in this shot. :)

PPS. I was after a balance between the clean lines and a somewhat grungy texture, so the grain has been cleaned up a bit after the extreme tone mapping but I left a lot of it on purpose, all part of the social commentary. :)

That looks good pal...it does bring out structural detail!...

It seems to leave a little excessive noise though..but pushing through a noise 'eraser' should take care of that!

I like the 'lines' in this too!...

Nice shot, but I prefer old fashioned, ancient pillars.

Close up, the image loses dimension and is flat, but quite pretty with the colors and lines. From a distance, the form can again be discerned and now we see what it really is, a building.
My guess as to interpretation is that the stalwart pillars, bosses and rulers, of any society, reach for the skies with their ideas and their buildings leaving us little people at the bottom on the ground to strain our necks in admiration for their great stature and audaciousness, when, in fact, without Oloneo, they are rather hideous, pretentious and arrogant, presuming they know what is best for the rest of us.

I like these architectural photos. This one has great geometric shapes, lines, and colors. The HDR adds a very interesting effect, which I like. This is a great shot, Mikel, and you possess a deft touch with the software.

I think these types of buildings have always been something of a legacy for the architect.

I love how the lines, angles, lighting, & shadows appear to come all together to take on a 3-dimensional look. The pale natural tones in contrast with the bold or brighter tones work nicely together. Nice touch with a bit of texture too. I tried it out on my desktop & I love it.

Creative work Mikel.
