Used judiciously hdr/tone mapping can uncover hidden details deliciously well. In this shot I was amazed at the width of the circle of ripples emanating out from the swan, not obvious at all until I'd run the shot thru Oloneo PhotoEngine. (Hey Rob, did I say thanks for your mention of that software? Thanks.) Clearly I didn't get this shot quite right in the field, the swan is cramped by the hanging foliage but I liked the overall effect enough to share it any way.

Enjoy.

Mikel.

A beautiful shot, Mikel, with none of the distracting characteristics seen with some HDR processing. I think you have the talent to clear some space around the swan with some careful editing, if you wanted to invest the time, but the photo looks terrific anyway. The ripples on the water are very nice, and I like the backlit leaves and grass, as well as the leaves reflecting off the water in the bottom left part of the photo. Well done!

I was about to recommend the same avenue, Mikel. Cloning over a relatively small section of each overhanging strand will make a significant finishing touch. A beautiful composition.

Even without that swan...this would have been good!

The gentle push through the hdr worked well!...also, you got a great 'frame' to it too

Lovely lighting, I enjoy the colors and coming through the leaves. Those ripples make a fantastic focal point.
