I have no idea what plant this is, it looks to me a bit like some kind of decorative cabbage gone to seed. It was in the planter boxes at my local hardware store. Taken with my Samsung Omnia 7 phone on macro mode. A bit of curves magic, a touch of denoise. It's got a lovely fractal quality to it don't you think?

Enjoy.

Mikel.

Actually, Mikel, I really like this posting. At full size it's truly beautiful, very delicate and almost silky. I don't think I would characterize any of these colors as being truly white. Love the delicate twists and turns, the shadows and textures. I probably would have cloned out that dark piece of negative space in the upper right. Other than that, this posting is my favorite of the weekend so far. Does that mean I should cut back on or increase my Depakote, Tegretol, Neurontin, Lamictil, Thorazine and Haldol?

This is a beautiful shot of flowering kale - comes in a purple green combo as well and does well in cool fall temperatures. Very well captured.

What a beautiful capture to be found at a hardware store no less! I suppose you can find beauty anywhere if you look hard enough for it :) Nicely done Mikel...

Nice eye! As to it looking like a fractal, I am always amazed that nature in itself is built on math and mathematical relationships. They say math is the language of the universe, the way we will eventually interact with beings from other planets. However theorectical, this one looks just Great on my desktop! Thanks!
