A quite different take on one of the stumps in Some Old Ditch. Normally I like things high contrast but something about this just cried out for another approach.

Comment: it is interesting what you don't see in your own shots, because you already have settled on "how" you are going to see them. The quality of visual confusion/ambiguity that this contains, totally passed me by when I was working on it because I KNEW what was what. Thanks for the feedback Bob and Mr C.

Mikel, the shadow of the stump together with the clouds may bring some confusion when one doesn't realize that the latter are reflections . A good composed but somewhat surrelastic scene. Therefore it would have been a good item for the surrealism contest, but you're too late, my friend.

I was fooled as well at first, thinking the stump was piercing the sky :-) On a second look I got it...

I like the juxtaposition I see between looking at a stump and reflection or a stump amongst the clouds. The monotone was a good choice and the composition is right on the button.
