Outlet for a small Hydro power station.

Enjoy.

Mikel.

PS

Probably ought to explain that this shot is not the result of one exposure in the field but a tripod, two exposures in raw files in the field and a fair bit of raw processing twiddling to produce two images, one for sky, one for the rest, then even more twiddling in The Gimp, particularly with some layer masks, to get this result. If I had a twenty thousand dollar camera it might have the dynamic range to produce a shot like this without all that processing work, but until that unlikely day multiple files will be my only recourse for situations like this. I know I've said it before but it's just totally true - learn how to use Layer Masks - they open up a whole world of possibilities that can only enhance your final images.

Mikel, I have the idea that it's not a small one, but think we are fooled because you have chosen a relative long exposure time resulting in a wide spread of the water near the outlet.

Very fine image.

Regards, Cornelius.

Cornelius took the words right out of my keyboard, Mikel. This is a spectacular shot that once again a zillion photographers wouldn't have seen. I'm sure the outlet isn't all that noticeable typically, but you chose a cool morning and a long exposure time to get more bang for your buck.

I might have to rethink my theory (which I've been telling everyone on Caedes) that you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground and are just a lucky SOB who happens to be in the right place in the right time.
