photography->sunset/rise
A winter's morning, sun just not quite up yet. Taken with the old canon five or six years back and revived with Dynamic Photo HDR5 and GMIC in The Gimp. It's interesting to me how the start of the day, sunrise, is so understated and laid back, in contrast to how the sunsets are so often insanely dramatic and stagey. I like both, depends on my mood. The simplicity of this shoreline, a rank of tree trunks echoed in the water reflections, compliments, for me at least, understated morning tones. I think this will be my entry in the current "repetition" comp.

Excellent shot, like the atmosphere and how the mist is hanging above the water, reflection is good good too :o)

I'm not sure, Mikel, that I agree with your assessment of sunrises and sunsets. Maybe it depends on the locale, because our sunrises are oftentimes as powerful as the sunsets.
Love the miss on the water. That's very common around here although we have very little water. I used to walk my dogs at Atascadero Lake. After 10,000 shots I'm staying away from the lake. When you're with your dogs in the middle of nowhere, they don't make you pick up after your dog since there is no "They". Also it's tough to shoot anything with no blur when you have two dogs on a leash.
A beauty of a shot. No complaints from me. Love everything about this shot.
