The Aletch glacier is the longest one in Europe and is on the world heritage list. On the mountains slopes in front you can clearly see how high the glacier once was. The tracks you see are called Glacier Moraines. Moraines are formed at the edges of the glacier, they exist of pebbles and rocks, wich slide down with the glacier. When multiple glaciers meet, like here there are 5 meeting at the Concordia, the moraines are crushed together, and form the rocky stripes. Hope to have given enough info, enjoy the image.
Thanks so much for the explanation. Without reading that, first I thought it is a very wide road among the mountains. Another cool image of the Swiss Alps. Have a great weekend. :)
