I found this one to be more interesting from the thumbnail than from full size. I was intrigued by the lights...what were they? But I learned nothing when I switched to the larger pic....so then the intriguing lights turned into distracting lights for me. The nice deep blues are wonderful, particularly full-size. This is a restful desktop, a bit different from the usual night shot of the mountains and the harbor.
The blue tones and air of mystery here are certainly wonderful. As sharon said, the lights are somewhat distracting @ full size, but I think the real distraction is that the horizon line appears to be off.
I say "appears" because I recognize that it may well be the curvature of island there, but as that is the only line the audience has to go by, you might want to artificially fix that by rotating the image about 2 degrees counterclockwise. Then the lights will go back to being undefined and interesting rather than distracting. 8•)
I agree with the others. The thumbnail is better than the full-size. I think that even though it is a moody scene, it lacks a crispness of detail. Soft focus problem. I too think the bright lights are a distraction because they're unrecognizable. If you could have increased the exposure just a bit you could have illuminated just a touch of highlights in the water.
i love it!!!
into my faves:)
