I say this as I have seen some other portraits that produced ... well, interesting results to me ... a little ... little, more light to at least bring out the other eye.
The dichotomy in expression that results can be very intriguing. Have a look here at an example. Mikes' expression changes depending on which side of the face you 'focus' on.
If you are taking some artistic licence, I can respect that. It does appear that you have blackened out the other eye somewhat?
As a suggestion ... geez, I am full of them aren't I? :oP ... instead of the profile you employed here ... one closer to a 3/4's profile ... might present you with a better 'canvas' to incorporate your concept here.
It is an image that does draw you in. The play of light, the angular lines of the face ... and the woman here, her own self ... are visually quite stunning.
Nice work ... annnnnd ... welcome to the site. :o)
Thanks for the comments! Here is the original since one of you at least seemed curious.
original I did indeed darken out most of that other eye but it was because I liked how strong the diagonal lines of light became. There may be more depth of expression in the original however.
Nice shot here Natalie the contrast and tones a well done. The only thing I would have liked to see is a little glimse of the other eye. It looks like and empty eye socket.
