I really like how you managed to convey a sense of ... hmm, depth? That's it ... as well as I love ... love the look of the material/substance that makes up the main image.

Glassy and metallic at the same time. Really liking that aspect. Good choice of gradients on your flame to bring out those elements.

Just a little undecided on the shape that twists and forms ... for lack of a better term, the 'eyes.' Maybe it's just better to view it as an entity?

Wonderful. I think I like it, too. It has a strangely ghostly feel, but also gives me a sense of being off-balance, out-of-kilter... not _quite_ right. That really gives this a distinctive and powerful atmosphere. Suitable to your interpretation, too - at least if retribution is thought of as somehow restoring balance etc. (depends on the view, of course). Then this is retribution personified, perhaps - reflecting the states in which he/she/it appears...

Excellent colour choices, too.
