For my family this is a rare scene. In fact, the only time I have seen three Mourning Doves together at the same time, two of them were chasing off the third. I'm guessing that it is the lingering snow banks, covering their normal food supply, that brings this many to our feeders. The title, of course, derives from the posture of the dove on the far left. Another photo from my son's Samsung phone. 5

Mourning doves love the 6 story building where I live - I think they nest up top or at the very least hang out there a lot. I have a pair that like to visit my balcony on a regular basis and peep in the window - if the door is open I talk to them through the screen and they seem to like it. I really like this shot!

'Nik' in my garden also live a few mourning dove couples. Now that the days are lengthening again in the northern hemisphere, soon it becomes no longer necessary for me to set the alarm clock in order to get up on time, because the mourning doves will then treat me to an 'aubade' early in the morning, 😁
I don't think the trio pictured are planning to do the same for you right now, as they probably have other priorities (trying to survive in the harsh cold). I think therefore they aren't afraid to honor your feeder with a visit, forced by the circumstances.
Good title for this beautiful, by your son taken, capture.

To be honest, this is not only a striking photograph, but how did you make it so that I can almost feel the branches and the leaves? Brilliant!
