Okay, now let me apologize in advance for the quality of the photo. It is here mainly for the humor and was perhaps my first (marginally) smart phone selfie, taken about 9 years ago when my granddaughter, Bella, was a toddler. As some of you know, she and her mom lived with us for her first two years, the first because daddy was deployed to Afghanistan for a year, and the second for house-hunting upon his return, so we got to bond with her in a manner most grandparents do not get. Not quite one-year-old here Bella took to climbing up our bedroom quilt on many mornings, to achieve the top of the bed to first visit "Guppa" (who usually slept a little later on weekends), and second to pull the blinds cord to see the dogs running around out back. In this particular scene, she is about to step over my head, and I am desperately hoping that that is a fresh diaper, or at least one that is iron-clad leak-proof.

Are there any better moments than those with grandchildren?

Now that Bella is nine years older, have video games replaced climbing over a recumbent grandpa?

Seeing that Bella is armed, you might be more concerned about the possibility of being poked in the eye with something other than bombs from loose diapers! lol.

'Nik', this precious photograph goes along with a funny story. It does remember me of the visits of my grandchildren when they had the age of Bella in the time this 'selfie' was taken. I was smiling about your fear of getting wet. Although my grand kids were allowed to tease me (to a certain extent) I never had a wet face because of a leaking diaper. The only times my face got wet, was because of a shower and/or because of splashing waves during my sea travels, 😁 !

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
