Okay, first of all, I got this capture on my iPhone 11 (because I have yet to replace my broken DSLR) yesterday, August 2. It was my wife's and my 43rd wedding anniversary, and since kayaking is her favorite outdoor activity, we spent a few hours on the Missouri River, here in North Dakota. The water was quite calm for a large stream, so the joining of two boats was easy, taking time for a little mid-paddle snack. This also gave me an opportunity to capture a few images of the amazing high, cirrocumulus cloud layers, being torn and fanned by high-level winds into abstract shapes, something different every 5 minutes. At times they didn't even look real--more like something out of the mind of Vincent Van Gogh ("Puffy, Puffy Day!"). If any of you are on the hunt for a way to relieve stress and enjoy nature at the same time, I cannot recommend kayaking enough (preferably a "sit-in" 12-footer, a "touring" kayak). It wasn't until I processed this image in Photoshop that I realized the cloud overburn of light around the sun had created the shape of a heart. It seemed appropriate, considering our anniversary.
I have never been on the water in a kayak. I have canoed and I have sailed. I loved both of those activities and can only assume they may be somewhat similar to kayaking.
Save a green kayak for me. Obviously, I'd be that huge green-horn paddling in a circle trying to get it to go straight!!! A scary sight for all to behold.
