Just to clarify, Nolf does not use the above program. The link above is simply a reference to the technique and that is available in that freeware/software/program.

Rotoscope (at least in my industry) is the process of manually keying out a subject in a live action shot.
Scanner Darkly is usually how we refer to this style.
But hey, end of the day maybe we can just call it "cool"? :)
