This is a slightly different version

This is by far the longest, difficult and complicated image I've done so far. It is my first attempt at a true photo manipulation type image. After working on it for hours and hours, i decided to stop before i got to far in over my head, trying to get every little detail perfect, every little rough edge smooth, etc. As far as i am concerned, i am trying every trick and skill that i've learned to try and make this image a reality. Even though it's not perfect though, i am still very proud of my work considering my current artistic abilities, amount of effort and patience.

This picture wouldn't have been possible without an entire group of benefactors, who all contributed in a big way. First of all, for allowing me to use their images (of which are): "Heart on Fire" by Jacqueline (J_272004); "Ion Burst" by Rylee (FrozenSolid). Also a thanks to Keith (Keifer) and Andrew (cgImagery) for "proof viewing" a preliminary attempt (before going with the 'full scale' project). And also one last thanks to Carl (d_spin_9) for his support in the creation of this image. This image wouldn't have been possible without all these supporting people. Thank you all!

Feel free to comment (and be honest and open about what you think). Oh and by the way, that is me in the photo.

I can see the difference, and find this one just as amazing! I really like seeing how far you've come from the starting point. So cool!

The difference is pretty subtle but if I had to choose one or the other it would be this one .. If you work on it further I would consider smoothing the rough edge on his left shoulder (a slight distraction)

different versions is something you will encounter with almost every piece .. with fractals it's color changes, etc ... just spend some time with them and go with the best one

thank again to everyone

it is very possible and i guess i could say it should be expected that you will see better and better versions of this image as if i'm updating the image if that is a good analogy lol

I like them both Kevin, but I also agree I like this one better. Though now that Keith's pointed it out I have to say he's right about the shoulder, it is a bit rough. This was a great concept of yours & I love how you did it ! Outstanding !

This is wonderful! I really love how well you've blended these images into one fantastic picture. The left shoulder i didn't notice until reading the comments, but i still think it's not anything big and looks fine. The cloaked figure fits perfectly with the mood of this image. Well done!

This is grand, especially considering the initial images. Great example of an event when the whole is greater than the sum of the parts! (f that makes sense...). Great image, I love the idea and the execution. And even though it's not full-size, I suppose it was hard enough to make it as big as it is. Thanks!
