Here's a shot of one of the dozen huge platform Oil rigs dotted along Cook Inlet just south of Anchorage, Alaska. They are pretty massive in size! It's just amazing to me that they float! I thought it was a different photograph!

My brother used to work on one of these off the coast of Alaska and my sister-in-law and their family lived in Juneau while he was out there. He was an engineer. I know he found it lonely and isolating and now I can see why. You've touched on more than just an image with this one for me!

You really did capture more than an image. The vastness and isolation really come through. The overall blue cast is also very effective. This is very evocative.

What a brilliant picture. The many shades of blue are really subtle and lovely. And capturing Jonathan Livingston Seagull was either a stroke of artistic genius or a massive stroke of luck.
