This was taken on the Oregon Coast. Yaquina Head Lighthouse is the tallest of the lighthouses found on the Oregon Coast, at 93 ft tall. It is a spectacular lighthouse and what a view from the top!
This is really a good find Pam. I googled Yaquina and found it is the name on an almost extinct Native American tribe. They are located in Oregon. This lighthouse makes a great tribute to them. I bet the view was gorgeous. Hopefully you took a photo to share. Nice post.
Super shot, Pam. I'm glad you decided on this view, and I'm with Tick. I hope you were able to go inside. It's hard to get into them on this coast, but perhaps they're a bit more lenient on the left coast!

A beautiful setting with the lighthouse set against that amazing blue sky / clouds. I may have just moved the angle a little more to the left to offcenter the lighthouse ... other than that an outstanding capture Pam. Off to my faves it goes. :-)
Oh I love the colour on this one. I guess I always prefer colours at the beach here..Lovely lovely shot. I wonder if you've been the Cape Blanco lighthouse?? Its fantastic, its the farthest point outside of the USA, and still connected, other than Alaska. It gets VERY windy up there.. If you haven't gone, you should sometime..It's a lovely little town too....V
