redid this in B&W, which I thought turned out pretty good with the different shades of rocks. Comments appreciated.

Hi Pam :)

I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to put up a link to your FIRST upload of this photo in color.

It's a well-composed pic, but I have to tell you that I think that the color in your first upload brings out the DOF better.

My two cents' worth, for what that's worth!!

We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"

I tend to agree, however if it was brightend a bit it might help jmo. This is a fine well composed shot either way. Thanks for sharing.

Pam, i'll offer the contrary view point. I love this in B&W, I think it is a far superior post, although I do have a slight concern (again) about the lack of contrqst in the sky. I agree though /\, this is fine composition either way.

Both the color and b/w version are great. Can't decide which one is the best. Depends on my mood. Good post Pam.

I agree with you, the shades of the rocks and the textures makes this a perfect image for B&W. Very well done!
