snapped this laste October in Anchorage, AK. Loved the way the moon was directly above the tip of O'Malley Peak. This isn't as clear as I would like, but all I had was my Sony point & shoot camera. No snow on the ground here yet...just on the mountains!

ah, for your camera - this is a fantastic image, better than what I come up with. I really like the slight pinkish glow of the mountains, although I'd have liked the moon to be bigger and more orange... but one can't command the heavens! :)

You didn't say but it seems like a beautiful crisp morning. I think the softer details work very well with the atmosphere. Very nicely composed, I like the outline of the mountain emphasized by the snow, contrasts of the foreground and softer hues beyond.
