This beautiful Jacobean house is reputed to be the birthplace of Henry VIII's second wife, Anne Boleyn. Legend has it that each year on the anniversary of her execution (19 May 1536), she glides into the hall carrying her head and roams the corridors until daybreak. The property and its estate are now owned by the National Trust and open to visitors throughout the year.

Oh my! I wonder who lives there now. An amazing house to be born in for sure. She was well off it would seem until she ran into Henry! This is a well framed and beautiful architectural shot.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Splendid photo, it fills the frame perfectly! The detail is marvelous. The first thing I noticed was so many window panes! Thanks for the historical tidbit, too.

A masterful shot of this wonderful piece of history AnneMarie. I love the colour of the bricks. Thanks for your narrative too, it is always nice to know the story behind the picture.
Perhaps a good idea not to visit on the anniversary day :)

Picture perfect postcard. :o)

Wow, looks like you have the 'Stealth' camera and it's controls reined in now. I just took a quick peek and am delighted that you have posted so many quality images.

I shall keep my admission ticket in hand for the return visits. :o)

Now then ...

I don't think these are easy shots. Not at all. Symmetry issues stand out like a sore thumb ... and I mean what I said above ... this is picture perfect.

You composed this image extremely well Anne-Marie. Wonderful and natural colour saturation. Love the architecture of windows.

This is a veritable visual feast for me ... I shall look at it a long time ... and take in all that you have offered with this beautiful perspective.

Well done.
