An amazing variety of colours in this stump and the texture is great - makes me want to touch it.
I am wondering if blacking out the background of the sky with a dark shade may add even more impact to this stunning shot.
I am glad you spotted this and brought it here for us to see.

Wonderful colors and textures and i wouldn't have known this was a Snowgum if I fell over it! LOL Tree bark is so different from species to species and some folks don't even notice. Thanks for presenting this. I need to know more about trees!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Great shot of a venerable old... branch? If that's a branch how big is the entire tree? Wow, I'm impressed. Also I love the colour variations and neat texture.
