An arroyo, also called a wash, is usually a dry creek bed or gulch that temporarily fills with water after a heavy rain. Spotted this while out exploring several days ago. I was intrigued by the many subtle colors of this gulch. Don't plan on going down into it. You'll sink out of sight. Needs to be viewed full screen.This is a combination of 3 images.

I like... just about everything about this, the subtle orange vegetation in the arroyo, and the trees framing it... the glimpses of the forest beyond the line of trees give it a touch of mystery.

Nice colours on the surface - one can get across by lying flat on the stomach and making croc movements :)

Great work on combining the 3 images Pat. That gulch, although beautiful sounds a dangerous place to be - you take care - yer gun won't help :)

i never think of an arroyo being i your area. i like the good color. i like the verticals. and i'm interested in the different colors and textures of the arroyo.
