After adjusting all the sliders in levels according to the book, this is what came out. Now, give me your honest opinions. If you don't like it say so.

It's too small (For my screen.) :) As to the colours, they are delicious and mellowed out. The off centred sun is nicely balanced by the clouds in the upper right quad. A bit of noise in the dark blue on the lower right could be cleaned up. I never can decide for myself what a good ratio of pitch black foreground is, so this ratio of yours seems about right to me.
Honest enough Pat? :)

The colors are nice, but not natural looking.

What a great critique provided by Mythmaker. If only everyone would do that...

Agree with Mik...I would probably cut a wee slice off the Right and the top!...

Although you have the composition right ... there is too much 'waste' ! ...The bottom foreground is fine...maybe a little off there to make it more compact!....Each individual have their own taste...

The 'open'ness' of the scene is terrific too....just goes to show...you cannot please everybody all the time eh!...

**Print this scene out in A3, frame it, hang it on a wall...and everyone will fall in love with it!...**

I also feel that a bit of the dark area on the right could have been removed. The orange beams spreading towards left and right at the bottom and the yellow beams upwards look unusual and beautiful.

I like the color combo in this one...it's really different!!

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round??

The color combo reminds me of something from the 70's. There are just two small dark spots on the right side that could cloned out and wish it was just a tad bit bigger for my screen

Yor titlwe is very appropriate Pat and I find the image very appealing.

I would maybe have cropped some of the lower black silhouette - and it is a shame about the slight noise in the dark blue/purple but that could easily be smoothed out.

The image has a radience and peacefulness to it - to use your words - a keep-ah :)

Unusual lighting, but sometimes unusual is nice. I'd crop some off the bottom, top, left, and remove the small black specks with Photoshop's spot healing tool ... yes, even if they are birds, as they really don't look like birds. I'm keeping it also,... it's interesting.

The title is perfect for this colorful work. Pat, I have to agree about the noise, and the little dark spots, they just look like spots even if they were birds.

I would have done some noise removal, and cloning. As for the colors - they are not natural, but they are beautiful, and something outside of the box, and for me it works. Tigs♥ =^..^=
