In my country we have the saying: "Hoge bomen vangen veel wind." When translated literally it sounds: "High trees catch much wind." Think however that the proper saying for it in English is: "High winds blow on high hills." When viewing this image think there's not often that much wind in this area. Think therefore this tree has'nt any problem with its top level position, lol.
Splendid post Momma, seen very well!

Great capture, Pat. A unique and wonderful scene. Your composition is superb. This tree is not only the king of the hill but also king of all the trees below it.

Wow ... that tree looks so tiny compared to the massive rock formation. The tree chose the perfect vantage point to flourish & grow. Excellent capture Pat.

Okay, but as you know the birds will always choose the highest point in this case. The little tree will stop laughing when the birds drop the bombs :) Very nice shot Pat.

Reminds me of a man with a toupee that is too small. I don't know if you remember Wimpy from Popeye but this looks like him.
I like the colors Owd Momma.

There's a shot that just had to be taken. Such a beautiful landscape. Maybe the little tree just wanted to have a look around.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

I think that tree worked very hard on getting that title. A great and detailed shot of this area.

A marvelous shot, Pat! A fascinating rock formation with a little garnish on top. I really like the composition of this image, especially your placement of the tree as the main subject. I also like the sunlight and shadows and the rich colors. Well done!
