In my country we have the saying: "Hoge bomen vangen veel wind." When translated literally it sounds: "High trees catch much wind." Think however that the proper saying for it in English is: "High winds blow on high hills." When viewing this image think there's not often that much wind in this area. Think therefore this tree has'nt any problem with its top level position, lol.

Great capture, Pat. A unique and wonderful scene. Your composition is superb. This tree is not only the king of the hill but also king of all the trees below it.

A marvelous shot, Pat! A fascinating rock formation with a little garnish on top. I really like the composition of this image, especially your placement of the tree as the main subject. I also like the sunlight and shadows and the rich colors. Well done!
