Let me roam ore the wide open country that I love....I'm glad you got to roam, but you are familiar with long drives and I bet you got wanting to see some places you haven't seen before. This is just beautiful country. I've been across the ocean several times, but I haven't really seen much of the US. Gotta start planning. At least I won't have to be xrayed or patted down to cross state borders! (not yet).

Would be a shame when this terrific landscape would be fenced in, Momma.
Excellent post, Pat.

Just follow the straight road to the mountains or get off the car and let your feet feel that brown grass (mind the snakes). There is nothing to stop you or fence you in. Go Momma!

This is a wonderful shot, Pat! I love how you've placed that lonely highway within the frame and the way it rises and falls as it fades into the distance. It gives this photo a terrific sense of depth. The sunlight and shadows, gorgeous colors, and beautiful sky are a real visual treat. Well done!

Love the contrast of blue and yellow, great use of the road to lead the eye in. I'm loving the Texan shots.
