Well, if you remember yesterday's image, you know that I have gotten around the backside of the wildlife refuge but closer to the grass fire in order to make my escape. The road out of here is beyond the left side edge of this image. I have to turn right to get on it and hope that I get by the fire before it reaches the road. I met an official refuge vehicle truck and we stopped to talk. He said probably some dumb photographer started the fire by driving down a grass covered side road and the hot underside of their car set the grass ablaze (I kicked my camera out of sight under the front seat. No, it wasn't me. I stay on the gravel roads in the refuge.)Dang, does Momma make it out of here or is she posting this from the "Beyond"?

You might be posting it from "out there" but most likely not from "beyond," Owd Momma. A good photojournalistic shot.

Once again the dangerous beauty of a brush fire... the orange of the flames and the dark swirling smoke are a compelling sight... I do hope you made it out safely though!

This is getting quite nerve wracking.

The colours in this tragic scene are really beautiful.
Good photo journalism Pat!

Very dramatic! That sunlit wall of flame and smoke is terrible to contemplate, but fascinating to look at. An amazing shot, Pat!
