Fits the adage of what goes up must come down. Quite a find, Pat. Love your natural colors. That nothing else is around emphasizes that sense of abandonement too.
It makes me want to go up and look in the windows. Like Cindy, I particularly like the natural colors. Good detail. What camera and lens were you using?

This place reminds me of a farmhouse some friends of my family lived in. So run down! They had tons of money but spent it on traveling instead of fixing up. Beautiful and excellent capture Pat! A fine composition!!!

You're right about viewing it full-screen... this is a beautiful, well-balanced image. There's a story in it too, which I love... Good 'un, Momma! mary

I see a few of these on the country roads in Missouri and always wonder who lived there, and if they ever return to see where they grew up, and remember the memories of the past.
These dilapidated old houses are a melancholy sight, but they sure do make interesting photographic subjects. And you've done a great job photographing this one, Pat. I like how the old, dead tree on the far left reflects the decaying, lifeless house. Both seem ready to topple in the next strong wind. The gray, overcast day also creates a fitting mood for this image. Well done!
