NOTICE: THIS IMAGE IS NOT TO BE POSTED ON ANY OTHER WEBSITE. Poor baby. Even with that long neck, she can't reach the itch, wherever it is. You wont see a giraffe laying down like this in the wild but here in the animal park they know they are safe.

Even a real contortionist can hardly reach that area with the mouth! Unusual image of a Giraffe lying on the grass and scratching like a dog!

The contortionist. Of course the itch has to be miles away from the head. How could it be otherwise. It did afford you a wonderful and most unusual shot though.

Your drive through the Safari Park is proving quite beneficial Owd Momma. I have heard of Longnecking but this takes the cake. Camera and editing skills worked in perfect harmony.

...but I'll give it a darn good try. Love giraffes, wonderful animals that look like they are designed by committee.

This is a wonderful shot, Pat! Outstanding camera work, and I have to say, I don't think I ever seen a giraffe in a pose quite like this. Great timing on this shot!
