Probably because of a lack of electricity the laundry is even dried in an old fashioned way.

Very good post again in this Amish-series, Momma.

Regards, Cornelius.

I suppose they have no electricity. Trying to live like it was 200 years ago is not easy. Nice capture showing the farm and housings.

Great view Pat, those Amish know how to enjoy the simple life. I see they have a bird house just like in the film Witness.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Now that's a barn! What a beautiful, bucolic scene here... I've just now taken a look at all your Amish pictures and I like them all. Also like your narratives, especially on the horses' harnesses.... Such a different way to live right here in the USA... In the early seventies I co-bought a large house and lots of acres out in western Massachusetts with a bunch of people... couldn't call us hippies, but we did have cows and chickens and we heated with wood stoves, etc. A simple life, yes, but an easy one, no. My hat is off to these people who choose that way of life!
