NOTICE: THIS IMAGE IS NOT TO BE POSTED ON ANY OTHER WEBSITE. Caught this guy flying around in my flower bed one day and ran and got the 7D, put it on high speed and bagged several good captures of the insect. Don't know what kind of butterfly it is.

I believe it is a Swallowtail, Owd Momma. That is some great clarity you got in this one.
The Bokeh just adds to the beauty. I would have liked to have seen you running.

A real nice capture of the Common Yellow Swallowtail (Papilio machaon)..At least that's what I thought at first glance but it's not...It's a Giant Swallowtail.(Papilio cresphontes Cramer)...and Very Nice too....R.

Beautiful colors here, Pat. Got him still for a split second. I had one of these about and it wouldn't be still. You did well capturing the little bugger. I am not sure what kind it is either. I would have said swallowtail, but the back side of the wings is black like the one I saw.
