This is not a good image I know. But, it is a picture of Benjamin taken by the animal shelter when he first arrived there. I cried when I found it on their website not long ago. How pitiful. In spite of all that he appears to have been through, he was trying to smile a little. From the size of his head compared to the rest of his body, he was obviously starving. And then there's that pitiful little tail! I had gone to the animal shelter with an older lady to help HER to choose a cat. I spotted Benjamin in his cage and walked up to it to take a closer look. He was now 3 months older than in the shelter image you see here. The shelter attendant said, "Oh, let me open the door so you can see him better". Before I could stop her and tell her I was not there to take home a cat, Benjamin came flying out of the door and landed on my shoulder. We were all startled. I knew I had been captured. We BOTH went home with cats. And you all know what a blessing Ben has been to me over the years. He will be three years old this Sat as a matter of fact. My friend and I are going to be throwing a "birthday party" for him. I encourage everyone to adopt an animal and give some poor little furry soul a loving home. There are so many in dire need. Tigs made a point that I should have mentioned. If your pet is not a show animal or a breeder, it should be spayed or neutered to prevent homeless animals.
