This beautiful azure pond is located about 10 miles from me on the back road into a nearby town. I have snapped many a picture of it. If you look closely you'll see the muddy Mermentau River running right behind it. Not long ago, the Mermentau flooded and overflowed into this pond carrying away the beautiful water. I figured that was the end of the pond. But,it recovered and returned to it's former beautiful self. Nature is amazing!

A very good panorama shot of this very nice scene with the blue water, the red building and the trees. In Germany many rivers' names end with"au". So "Mementau" was probably a name given by German settlers there.

Marvelous shot and the pond sure is beautiful in colour against the muddy river beyond.

Like my aquarium the muddy water can turn very clear when the natural balance is restored by bacteries and filtering organisms.
But my aquarium never gets this azure color.
