This caterpillar and many others like him were crawling all over a wooden railing leading to a restaurant. There were so many of them the manager was outside knocking them off the railing. I tried to find out what this is on the internet but could not. Does anybody know? Taken with iPhone 6 plus.

Very clear details in this shot with the I-phone. I get an itch just by looking at this fellow.

What a great detailed capture, and I do think it's a gypsy moth.

I Googled the Gypsy moth and I don't think that is what it is. Doesn't quite fit the profile. ?????

It's a white tussock moth caterpillar which isn't all that attractive when it becomes a moth for such a nice name. lol

Great shot of this fuzzy critter!

Connie is so right about this being a White Tussock Moth Caterpillar - they have Toxic Pincushion Hairs on their backs, these stinging hairs cause a very irritating rash, especially on the inner arms, neck, and stomach areas. So be careful not to touch.

Spectacular detail and clarity
