I like the sharpness of the patterns in the wings. Right now I have no lens that gives that sharp of an image.
If you don't mind me asking: What camera and lens combination do you use for your macro shots?
This is certainly an exceptional image. Keep up the excellent work.
My desktop looks better with your image.
Once again, the viewer cheats themselves if they do not download this. The thumbnail completly deprives ones eyes of the surprising detail. Those wings are so crisply captured, they look like they crackle. The detail of the head and thorax (?) are superb. Yep, this is a keeper for me also. Tens.

Can I apologise In advance for NOT answering your comments for the next few weeks...My time on Caedes will be limited!...Holidays take up most of my time...So, can I thank all of you, my dear friends who have supported and commented on my works..I wont be away too long, I promise.....
Hi Paul, this is indeed a splendid image, one to be proud of! The quality of the photo is expressed in it's exceptional clarity and sharpness, as Micheal had said! I also love the soft colors of the flower of course! The transparency of the wings fascinates me as well! That is of course is the acuity again! Russ and I have a bee contest each spring and he is waiting patiently for me to come forth with some real amunition and I can't as yet, because Mi has been too cold! Therefore, they have been grounded and the battle delayed! Those bees he photographs would put mine to shame! I just thought you would get a kick out of my dilema! LOL! This is a beautiful image Paul, professionally done and very appealing! Can't beat this one! Sincerely, Marilyn
Outstanding shot, Paul! You really should consider marketing some of these shots - - this is top notch photography, sir! Love the softness of the flower and the incredible clarity of the bee! Wen
Another tack sharp macro, the 60 mm macro sure does a nice job for you. The butterfly garden and botanical center where I shoot most of my macros don’t allow tripods so I have to hand hold everything.
The detail in this macro is incredible Paul They are so transparent. The bee is certainly very busy with the pollen in that blossom. Another quality photo from you! Thank you or sharing this with us :~)
I'm no biologist, but I am pretty sure this is some kind of fly rather than a bee; perhaps a robber fly? If so he has obviously disguised himself to look like a bee... I know that animals often do this to look threatening when in reality they are harmless. You must have gotten pretty close to him here, fantastically detailed shot.
