A friend of mine works in a camera store. The other day a very confused looking woman approached the counter and handed my friend a camera. She said "I took pictures, but I forgot to have film in the camera. Can you please get them out of the camera for me?"

Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual. Edward Weston

People will soon forget what you said or what you did, but they will always remember how you made them feel.

Is that the real Seine in the distance or just a painting of it? Just kidding. Nicely done, Paul. Lots of human interest and activity. I love to watch people paint.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

It's really interesting to see how the scene is interpreted by the artist. Nice capture!

Oh Paul...I could hug you for taking this photo!! It sure made me get a tear in my eye...What a priviledge that artist has! To be able to be right there to paint that gorgeous river! I would love to change places with him right now..And look how beautiful he has done that. And for you to capture this, it's a wonderful feeling. My goodness!!! look at the gorgeous colours he gave those trees! I sure know the feeling of painting what "we" see in our eyes...even tho we might change the scene some, it will always only enhance it. Thank you for such a personal photo..did you let him know you took his photos? He might just love to have a copy!! Thank you for a lovely posting my dear Paul...thank you SO much....verena

I love this picture. They say a painting speaks a thousand words. Your photo of this painter in such gorgeous surroundings speaks a million words. I also love the detail of the paper bag and all the paints and paint brushes. Definitely a favourite!
