We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
It IS very beautiful. I love the angle the shot was taken. However, I agree with .mapbc. As beautiful as a dried flower can be, it doesn't exactly seem "pure". Is there a reason behind this? If so, I'd really like to know. Maybe because you're trying to portray that death is pure because all sins are cleansed or something? I don't know.
Nice concept, but the photo is out of focus and grainy, which leaves me cold on this one. All that white in the center is also very harsh. Sorry, but this one is lacking for anything for my eye.
I like the idea, but it seems to be out of focus to me. Could have used a different color for the rings background I believe. Maybe even a soft gray. I don't know though, still I really like the theme.
I think the problem is the exposure on this one. The foreground is over exposed and the background is not under exposed enough and forms a distinct line across the picture which isn't aesthetically pleasing to me anyway. The rose past its best adds a poignancy to the image that I find appealing as an allegory for the fact that all love ends even if only with death. The grain and focus I don't mind it adds to the picture. I would say take it again on a neutral background with less light and it would be good.
