The silhouttes are what makes this photo so dramatic Tom. The colors of the sky as it 'awakens' are amazing! Lovely capture of a lovely moment. Thank you

I agree with Mimi. The foreground is so interesting in this and that sky is beautiful.

You'd think this shouldn't work at all as it's so dark, but it actually works very well. There's so much atmosphere that really captures that "first light" feeling. Great shot, Tom :-)

How did you manage to get both the foreground AND the background in focus???? This weekend I spend fifteen minutes trying to get that during a sunset over the Gulf of Mexico, but I never succeeded. Grrrrrr!

Nice job Tom. 10/10 faves

I used the smallest aperture setting, it will give you a deeper field of focus.

It is a great photo Tom.I think just a tad more light would have still made your point without sacrificing your first eye for composition and content.

I'm impressed you could take this shot with the given lighting, keep the colors of the sky, while keeping the noise to a minimum. Great work!

I saw this on the front page - it's an elegant beach view. The silhouetted plants in the foreground are one reason this shot is so appealing. I like how you peek through them and see the flawless sea. The sunrise is stunning with the various colours lightening the sky. I just don't have the correct words for this magnificent image - I just know it's a one in a million perfect scene. My compliments on your camera skills Tom :^>

I need to catch up on things so can't comment too much. But I love all of your fine images :)
